Walmart Express is coming to Decatur
Wal-Mart continues to invest near its home base in Northwest Arkansas, today announcing plans for a new Walmart Express in Decatur. The small format grocery story will be located at 154 E. Roller in Decatur and is expected to open in the winter of 2015.
“We are excited to Welcome Walmart Express to Decatur,” said Mayor Charles Linam. “Decatur is proud to be part of a growing Northwest Arkansas community, and we are pleased to have another business choose our community to call home.”
The 12,000-square-foot Decatur Walmart Express store will give customers quick and easy access to a wide variety of affordable products – fresh produce, a full grocery department with a bakery and deli, a pharmacy with popular $4 generic prescriptions, health and beauty supplies, select household items and a gas station.
Walmart also gives customers convenient access to online items through Site to Store, a service which makes the hundreds of thousands of products on Walmart.com available for purchase and delivered for free right to the Decatur Express store.
“Decatur customers tell us they want convenience and we are bringing it to them,” Brian Hooper, Walmart Vice President for Real Estate said. “The Decatur Walmart Express store will provide that quick and easy way to access fresh food and household essentials at our everyday low prices.”
In addition all of the benefits to customers, the Decatur Walmart Express will benefit the community by generating additional tax revenue, stimulating new investment and economic growth and providing 30 jobs with the opportunity to build a career.
