Missing Payments
Foster’s Exterior Solutions LLC of Farmington is still aggressively pursuing payment from the general contractor of a $25-million student housing development in Fayetteville.
Foster’s filed suit last fall in Washington County against Parkcrest Builders Inc. of Houston and South Garland Boulevard Associates LP, which is owned by The Michaels Co. of Marlton, New Jersey.
Parkcrest, which built The Vue in Fayetteville, and The Michaels Co., which owns the development, have allegedly failed to pay $25,316 owed for equipment and labor provided by Foster’s.
A non-jury trial is scheduled for Sept. 22.
Foster’s isn’t the only company that hasn’t been paid by Parkcrest.
Conway-based Hunt-Rogers Materials LLC, which operates quarries in Farmington, Lowell and Springdale, is seeking $34,776, according to a complaint filed in December.
The way we understand it, Parkcrest isn’t paying because it hasn’t been paid yet by the owner of the property and was fired from the job before it was ever completed.
You may recall during construction there were two fatal accidents at the site, a fuel spill involving hundreds of gallons of diesel, and the opening was also delayed by several days.
Nabholz Construction Services in Rogers was actually the general contractor when the project was completed.
The Vue opened in August 2013.
