Arkansas Lamp of Van Buren Launches Line of LED Fixtures
Arkansas Lamp Manufacturing Co., a family-owned business in Van Buren, has launched a new line of LED ceiling lamps and wall sconces.
The fixtures have an Energy Star certification, according to an ALM press release, and the new products will cut energy consumption by 80 percent compared to incandescent bulbs and by 40 percent versus fluorescent fixtures.
Lighting is one of the top expenses for commercial building owners, and Jeff Null, president of the company, said he anticipates the fixtures will be in high demand.
“LED fixtures offer significant long-term savings,” he said. “There are increased government mandates for energy efficiency for all businesses, and all business owners are aware of their monthly electric bill. LED fixtures have a tangible and immediate impact on those costs and [will] simultaneously eliminate maintenance costs and overhead.”
ALM contracts primarily with clients in the hospitality industry and the U.S government, with customers nationwide and in Canada.
“We have sent some other international shipments but hope that this product will help us grow that [segment] further,” Null said. “In fact, we did some analysis a few months back and found less than 1 percent of our customers are based in Arkansas.”
Null said the company employs 52 from its Van Buren headquarters, which is nearing completion of a 10,000-SF warehouse expansion that will increase the total size to almost 100,000 SF.
The company also has an agent office in China for quality checking and freight coordination.
