This Week In Arkansas History: Polling In The 1990 Governor’s Race
This week in 1990 the Arkansas Governor’s race was ignited.
Gov. Bill Clinton was battling a surge from Democratic challenger Tom McRae, while two Republicans – Tommy Robinson and Sheffield Nelson – were duking it out for the GOP nomination.
At the time, Clinton’s big lead had shrunk considerably in a round of polling released from Ernie and Zoe Oakleaf with Little Rock-based Opinion Research Associates.
Robinson, the frontrunner with big name ID, had also seen his wide lead shrink to Nelson.
