Is there an indoor wall climbing venue in the works for Northwest Arkansas? A Fayetteville businessman has such a place on his mind.
Dennis E. Nelms, co-owner of Adventure Subaru of Fayetteville, recently bought 2.88 acres of commercial land near the intersection of Arkansas Highway 112 and West Drake Street, behind a Liquor To Go retail store.
Nelms bought the land through an entity called Vertical LLC, and for good reason.
He told Whispers he has been considering the possibility of building an indoor climbing and fitness center in Northwest Arkansas.
There are two similar venues in NWA — one at the HPER Building at the University of Arkansas, the other at Ozark Bouldering Gym in Springdale.
“This property became available and it may be just what I’m looking for, but there are no definite plans yet,” Nelms said.
