Judge Brad Karren Hospitalized After Weekend Cycling Accident

Benton County Circuit Judge Brad Karren of Rogers is in stable condition in a Missouri hospital after a weekend cycling accident.

According to Karren’s Facebook page, Karren and his son were riding on the Compton Gardens trails Sunday afternoon in Bentonville when he suffered an accident.

The Facebook post, made at 11:01 p.m. Sunday, did not provide any additional details on the type of accident.

Karren is in Springfield, Mo., after having been airlifted from Northwest Medical Center to the Mercy emergency trauma center.

“Judge Karren is alert and he and remains in stable condition,” according to the Facebook post. “His family is awaiting results of medical imagery testing to understand the extent of his injuries.”

Karren’s existing court docket will be covered by Judge David Clinger, according to the Facebook post.

Karren was a Rogers District Judge for four years before being elected circuit judge in 2012.

He is also a former Benton County deputy prosecuting attorney and served as an in-house counsel to Wal-Mart Stores Inc. from 1991 to 1994.
