Hog Home
University of Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long has put his Fayetteville house up for sale.
Asking price for the 5,099-SF home on one acre in Washington County is $825,000. Long paid $800,000 for the property in 2008.
Whispers was unable to track Long down before press time, so we can’t be sure of his plans.
The thought never seriously crossed our minds, but a UA source of ours says Long is most definitely not leaving the university.
Our guess? Long and family are searching for a residence in a less-busy location. Long’s home is just a stone’s throw from the intersection of Crossover Road and Township Street on the east side of Fayetteville.
As most know, the $12.6 million road project to widen a 2.2-mile stretch of Crossover from Mission Boulevard to Joyce Boulevard was recently finished, and some residents along that corridor may be concerned that will open the door for a surge of commercial development.
If we had the means and were in his position, we’d head for the country, too. And Long certainly has the means. He’s set to receive a $100,000 bump in pay July 1, raising his salary to $1.1 million.
The four-bedroom home, built in 2008, is listed by Lindsey & Associates of Fayetteville.
