HealthSouth to Add 20 Beds to Existing Hospital
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Fayetteville announced expansion plans Tuesday that will add 20 new private patient rooms to its existing 60-bed hospital at 153 East Monte Painter Drive.
Besides the 9,250-SF expansion, a 2,250-SF renovation is part of the project that will result in a new patient dayroom and additional support areas.
According to a news release, construction will begin in July and the project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2015.
HealthSouth, the nation’s largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, is a partner with Washington Regional Medical Center.
“We are excited about the upcoming addition to our hospital. With this expansion, we will be able to provide services to even more patients with rehabilitation needs in the northwest Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma and southwest Missouri areas,” Jack Mitchell, CEO of HealthSouth, said in the release. “Our hospital serves patients recovering from stroke, hip fracture, multiple traumas, brain injury, Parkinson’s, amputation as well as other conditions; and we know that this expansion will provide them with an even more pleasant rehabilitation experience.”
Gresham, Smith and Partners is the architect and Doster Construction Co. is the general contractor for the project. Both are based in Birmingham, Ala.
The project will be funded from ongoing operations without a construction loan.
