Freedom Of Information Act Conference Starts Wednesday Afternoon
Wednesday afternoon, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel will host a Freedom of Information Act conference in downtown Little Rock’s River Market. The FOIA conference educates the public on how to access records from public agencies in the spirit of open government.
McDaniel discussed the FOIA in a recent “Talk Business & Politics” interview.
He shared a story from last year when visitors from the Middle East who participated in the Arab spring uprising asked about Arkansas” public records law.
“I explained to them that the online casino australia Freedom of Information Act is a burden because you have to comply with it in a very tedious way, but it is the price you pay to live in a free society. It”s the people”s ability to know what”s being done on their behalf and with their money,” McDaniel said. “The Attorney General”s office is committed to helping people on how to use it and why it”s good for them.”
The forum will start at 1:30 p.m. at the Central Arkansas Library System’s Ron Robinson Theater at 100 River Market Ave. There is no registration fee and the forum is open to anyone to attend.
