A land deal that will bring life to a shabby corner in south Fayetteville has finally closed.
Kum & Go of West Des Moines, Iowa, through its KG Store 418 LLC, paid the city of Fayetteville $1.15 million for 1.89 acres at the corner of Huntsville and Happy Hollow roads on Arkansas Highway 16.
The deed was filed April 22 at the Washington Co. Courthouse.
The entire site, about 11 acres, is owned by the city of Fayetteville and was once the site of a Tyson Mexican Original plant.
The factory has been torn down, and the site has been empty for years.
Kum & Go already operates two convenience stores in Fayetteville.
