Scott Sells Pinnacle Residence
Our Benton County real estate watchers tell us Lee and Linda Scott have sold their home in Rogers for $1.9 million.
Lee Scott was, of course, the third CEO of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., following Sam Walton and David Glass.
According to public records in Benton County, the 7,006-SF property inside the gates at Pinnacle Country Club now belongs to Tyson Foods Inc. executive Jimmy Mardis and his wife, Terri.
The Scotts’ son, Eric Scott, had the listing and Jessica Smiley was the selling agent. Both are agents with Portfolio Luxury Real Estate of Rogers.
As we understand it, the new owners approached Scott about buying the Pinnacle home, which wasn’t listed for sale.
Scott was Walmart CEO from 2000 until his retirement in January 2009. He and his wife bought a house in Longboat Key, Fla., the following year, but Scott has remained on the Walmart board of directors.
That role — and visiting his son’s family — has frequently brought him back to Northwest Arkansas, and the Scotts have remained active with charitable giving locally (i.e. the Amazeum interactive children’s museum in Bentonville).
Whether they buy another local residence or not, we’re sure the Scotts will always have a presence in Northwest Arkansas.
