Brooks Approved For Judgeship
The U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed Timothy L. Brooks to the federal bench on Wednesday in a rare 100-0 vote.
Brooks, a Fayetteville attorney, will serve as U.S. District Judge for the western district of Arkansas, which includes Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Harrison, Hot Springs and Texarkana.
He was supported by both of Arkansas’ U.S. Senators, Mark Pryor (D) and John Boozman (R).
President Barack Obama first nominated Brooks to serve on the federal bench last June, but the Senate did not hold a confirmation vote before the year ended. Obama resubmitted his nomination in June.
Brooks is a partner at Taylor Law Partners in Fayetteville, where he has worked since 1989 after graduating from the University of Arkansas School of Law.
