Forty Under 40: Sach Oliver
Sach Oliver grew up on a cattle farm in north Arkansas, graduated as valedictorian from Viola High School and was later student government president at Arkansas State University.
It was there Oliver said he learned something: He had an affinity for both public speaking and advocating for a cause.
The combination has produced one of the top trial lawyers in the state.
As a senior at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2006, Oliver won the prestigious national award of Best Oral Advocate, as presented by the American College of Trial Lawyers.
That same year, he joined his mentor, Frank Bailey, and led the firm’s relocation from Mountain Home to Northwest Arkansas. Two years later, the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association chose Oliver as its Outstanding Young Trial Lawyer of the Year.
Oliver’s passion for helping others is evident, whether in his professional or personal life. Using his auctioneering skills, he leads a team of volunteers that conducts a dozen events each year, and so far in 2014 has brought in more than $1 million for area nonprofits.
Oliver, married with two daughters, keeps connected to his country roots by living on a horse and cattle farm in Highfill. “We can drive out there and live relatively out in the country, but also be at Carrabba’s in 10 minutes,” he said. “What a great place to live in Northwest Arkansas.”
Oliver is a board member for Rodeo of the Ozarks, leads a closing argument competition for law school students and also started a speech contest for area high school students.
