Emerson Monument of Springdale has stood the test of time. In addition to celebrating its 100th anniversary, the headstone maker announced plans to expand this year to a new facility at 907 N. Walton Blvd. in Bentonville.

Founded in 1914 in Clifty, Emerson Monument moved to Springdale in 1926. The company has a service area that includes Northwest Arkansas, southwest Missouri and northeast Oklahoma.

“Our memorials act as historical markers and creative tributes to those who navigated this area before us and who have helped shape our communities into the beautiful living spaces they are today,” said co-owner and CEO, Alison Raymer.

With advances in technology, monuments are now as unique and elaborate as the person they are made to remember. Techniques used to distinguish headstones include hand-carving, sandblasting, imbedded videos, QR codes and RFID.
