Dollar General Corp. of Tennessee finished 2013 with a flurry of approved permits to sell beer at locations in Northwest Arkansas, predominantly in Benton County.

The discount retailer gained no fewer than 12 permits for off-premises beer sales in Siloam Springs, Gentry, Centerton, Lowell, Decatur, Cave Springs, Springdale, Bentonville (2) and Rogers (3), according to records on file at Arkansas Beverage Control, a division of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.

Benton County voters approved beer and liquor sales in November 2012. Dollar General has dozens of stores in the region.
