Arvest Bank says that longtime Little Rock banker Virgil Miller has joined its banking group as the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) director.

Miller, a 36-year banking veteran, has been with Metropolitan National Bank as their CRA officer for the last 13 years. He has also worked at Worthen Bank, Boatmen’s Bank, NationsBank and Bank of America.

As the new CRA director, Miller will be responsible for CRA compliance for the Arvest Bank Group.

“We are so proud to have Virgil Miller join the Arvest team. Miller has a stellar reputation in banking circles that is well-deserved and based upon his long track- record of performance, integrity and hard work. He also brings a fresh and enthusiastic approach to CRA initiatives that will benefit all of our banks. Plus, Virgil has always had a strong commitment to making a difference in his community, which is a cornerstone for Arvest. This is a great fit for Virgil and for our bank,” said Cliff Gibbs, regional executive for Bentonville-based Arvest Bank Group.

Miller sits on the boards of the Arkansas Capitol Corporation, Arkansas Economic Acceleration Foundation, Baptist Health Board of Trustees and Heart of Arkansas United Way. He also serves as a commissioner for the Bill and Hillary Clinton Airport Commission.
