State Earns High Praise for Health Insurance Exchange
Arkansas has been ranked a top health insurance exchange, according to a new executive briefing issued by HealthLeaders-InterStudy.
States were recognized by the industry-wide impact of health insurance exchanges during the first six weeks of enrollment. Arkansas, Connecticut, Kentucky and Washington were the top four states recognized.
Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Jay Bradford said in a news release that the success is due largely to strong leadership in the form of Gov. Mike Beebe, state Surgeon General Joe Thompson, the state legislature, the Department of Human Services and the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement.
Arkansas earned high marks for the private option model, enrollment and innovation. All 50 states were evaluated on several factors.
