A diagnosis and treatment for cancer can be stressful, not only for the patient, but for family members providing care. Staying informed about treatment options is one way to regain control and hope.

A free one-hour workshop “Frankly Speaking About Lung Cancer” will be held from 12-1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10 at the Donald W. Reynolds Cancer Support House located at 3324 South M Street.
Dr. Arturo Meade, MD, Sparks Lung Center, will discuss the latest treatments for lung cancer, as well as side effects, side-effect management, and tools to overcome the social and emotional challenges of the diagnosis.
Dr. Meade is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Sleep Medicine. He has practiced medicine in the Fort Smith area since 1995.
Sparks has partnered with the American Lung Association and Cancer Support Community to provide this free Lunch and Learn session open to lung cancer patients, caregivers and family members. Registration is required.
