APEI Announces $4.2 Million in New Research Contracts
Fayetteville company Arkansas Power Electronics Inc. has secured $4.2 million in new federal research contracts, according to a University of Arkansas news release. The announcement was made Monday at a news conference attended by Arkansas Sen. Mark Pryor.
APEI is a company affiliated with the UA, specializing in advanced, high performance electronics for a variety of customers and applications.
According to the release, a $2 million Department of Energy award was one of 38 new projects awarded nationally in a $45 million effort to develop new technologies that will reduce transportation costs and improve fuel efficiencies.
An award for about $1.5 million was received from the Army Research Laboratory, and the Army Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center awarded $707,000.
