SEC Filing: Americas Car-Mart COO Eddie Hight Announces Retirement
Eddie Hight, longtime chief operating officer of America’s Car-Mart Inc. of Bentonville, has announced his retirement after 29 years with the company, according to a filing made Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Hight, the COO since May 2002, notified the company October 7 of his intention to retire, effective November 30. Hight will remain employed to assist with associate training and development, according to the filing. His position will remain unfilled.
Additionally, Hight was elected to the company’s board of directors on October 7. He will serve in that capacity until the company’s annual stockholder’s meeting in 2014 when a successor is elected, or until his earlier resignation or removal.
Hight, honored in 2002 as a member of the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 class, joined Car-Mart in 1984 and held several positions including store manager and regional manager before being named COO.
Car-Mart is one of the largest publicly traded auto dealers in the United States, with 129 dealerships in ten states.
For its fiscal first quarter ended July 31, Car-Mart revenues totaled $122.5 million, up 11 percent from the first quarter of 2012.
