MacNaughton, Mitchell to Speak at Annual CASA Event
CASA of Northwest Arkansas is hosting its sixth annual Light of Hope events Nov. 19 at venues in Rogers and Springdale.
To accommodate citizens in both Benton and Washington counties, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is hosting a breakfast at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers, and a luncheon at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Springdale.
CASA has been active in Northwest Arkansas for 15 years, and has helped more than 2,000 abused and neglected children during that time.
Duncan MacNaughton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s U.S. division, will be the keynote speaker at the breakfast.
Elise Mitchell, founder and CEO of Mitchell Communications Group in Fayetteville and the CEO of Dentsu Public Relations Network, will fill that role for the luncheon in Springdale.
The events are free, though attendees will be asked to consider making a donation.
In a statement, MacNaughton said he is supporting CASA because it is important for children of abuse and neglect to have a voice in the courtroom.
“There is no more precious asset than our children,” he said.
Mitchell said she is passionate about CASA’s mission because nothing is more critical to the future than children.
“CASA recognizes that a single person can make all the difference in the life of children who have been abused and neglected right here in Northwest Arkansas.”
