Bentonville Vendor Makes Real Estate Play

Did you know two parcels totaling 28 acres just west of the World Trade Center in Rogers recently sold for $3.4 million?
Bentonville native Chad Hatfield bought the undeveloped acreage at the corner of Champions Drive and Northgate Road.
Hatfield, vice president of sales at Whalen Furniture Co. in Bentonville, made the purchase through an entity called Hatfield Whalen Land LLC.
So what’s the development plan?
“Don’t have one yet,” Hatfield said. “We are working on a few things conceptually but no plans as of yet.”
An office building is the likely bet.
Hatfield, by the way, also owns a 19,438-SF ‘Class A’ office building in the Metro Park North addition of Rogers. He paid $3.05 million in June 2012 for the building and 1.42 acres at 597 Horsebarn Road.
