A Fayetteville company has been recognized by Inc. magazine as the fastest growing private company in Arkansas.

capSpire, founded in 2009 by Mike Scharf and Jeff Hardcastle, was ranked No. 773 on the magazine’s 34th annual list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America.

The magazine published the list in its September issue. It included nine Arkansas companies, three of them from Northwest Arkansas.

capSpire is a global consulting company that develops software for the commodity trading risk management sector of the energy industry. It has 37 employees in three states and has experienced revenue growth of 591 percent in the last three years, with $4.6 million in revenue in 2012.

Besides its Fayetteville headquarters, capSpire has an office in Tulsa, recently added Texas offices in Dallas and Houston, and will have an office with three employees in Dublin, Ireland, by the end of the year.

Lowell-based Central Research Inc. is ranked No. 1,572, third-best among Arkansas companies.

Central Research, which has 60 employees, specializes in the identification, verification, and documentation of deceased and incarcerated individuals as well as Freedom of Information Act support services.

The company’s revenue grew 253 percent in the last three years, up to $4.8 million in 2012.

ZweigWhite LLC of Fayetteville, a provider of consulting, research, training, events, publishing and media products and services to the architecture, engineering, and environmental consulting industries, is ranked No. 4,757 on the list. The company generated $4.4 million in 2012 revenue, up 42 percent from 2009.

The Inc. 5,000 is an expanded version of the list of the top 500 fastest-growing private companies that the magazine has put together since 1982. Rankings for the lists are based on how fast a business’s revenue is growing year over year.
