Making the Internet rounds recently was a U.S. map featuring logos of the most noteworthy chain restaurants — at least according to the website thrillist.com — from each of the 50 states.

This was done with an eye towards businesses with local resonance but national notoriety, according to the website. Could mean the restaurant was founded there, headquartered there or both.

Georgia was, of course, represented by Chick-fil-A. California? In-N-Out Burger.

Burger King is tops from Florida, Bojangles is the headliner from North Carolina, and if you’re ever in Washington, there’s a neat coffee house there called Starbucks. Check it out.

And Kentucky Fried Chicken? Shouldn’t require an explanation.

Get the idea?

So what restaurant chain goes hand in hand with Arkansas? How about Fayetteville-based Slim Chickens. The first restaurant opened in 2003 and now has 10 locations in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
