Two Arkansas Areas on Forbes List of Top Business Locales
Northwest Arkansas and central Arkansas, the state’s largest metro areas, are considered two of the country’s top areas to do business according to Forbes magazine.
The publication announced Wednesday its 15th annual list of “Best Places for Business and Careers”, revealing NWA at No. 28 and central Arkansas at No. 32.
The list includes 200 metro areas across the country.
In a joint news release, Northwest Arkansas Council president and CEO Mike Malone lauded the ability of both regions to work together to show the advantages of doing business in Arkansas.
“Our economies are unique enough that we don’t compete, and we can root for the other’s success,” he said.
Jay Chesshir, CEO of the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce, said the rankings are more evidence that collaborative efforts yield results.
“It’s never been more important to combine efforts to amplify Arkansas’ unique position in the world,” Chesshir said in the release.
The Northwest Arkansas region is ranked just behind Lexington, Ky., and just ahead of Asheville, N.C.
Central Arkansas is just behind Baltimore, Md., and just ahead of Portland, Ore.
