Verizon Wireless Completes 4G Network In Arkansas
Verizon Wireless says it has “substantially completed” the roll-out of its 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) network across Arkansas “several months ahead of schedule.”
The high-speed broadband network allows wireless connectivity speeds on average, 10 times faster than previous generations of wireless networks.
“Arkansans have noticed the difference Verizon’s 4G LTE network offers,” said Dean Taylor, president of Verizon Wireless in Arkansas. “Through 4G LTE we’re supporting a more efficient and mobile work environment, we’re bringing home internet service into rural areas through our Home Fusion product, and we’re supporting Arkansans with a reliable, statewide coverage area so they can utilize 4G LTE across the state.”
Verizon said its network covers large cities and small towns across the state. The company began implementing its 4G network in August 2011.
Since then, Verizon says it has invested more than $220 million in its wireless broadband and voice networks throughout Arkansas.
