• SURVEY: Women still dominate the grocery marketplace
Shopping channels are rapidly changing in the world today, but a recent survey from the Private Label Manufactures Association found it’s women who still dominate the marketplace.

Although women’s personal and professional advancements have grown significantly in recent decades, the time spent grocery shopping has not decreased.

According to the study, two-thirds of women say they still handle much of the grocery shopping and still take the time to make the meal time decisions.

Roughly 75% of the survey respondents said they make a shopping list and roughly half of them clip coupons and look for specials.

An astounding 84% said they still act as the sole preparer for a majority of meals in the household.

The survey also found two-thirds of the shoppers surveyed said they prepared meals at least five times a week. The majority of those said they preview to use fresh ingredients, over frozen or microwave entrees.

The research involved more than 1,000 shoppers from a diverse sampling.
