A Tennessee-based aggregate producer has partnered with a locally owned company that will operate their combined three quarries in Northwest Arkansas.

Rogers Group Inc. of Nashville and Northwest Arkansas Quarries have folded their local operations into a company called Hunt-Rogers Materials Inc.

Financial terms of the venture were not disclosed.

According to a news release issued by Tom Kenley of RGI’s media relations office, the merger became effective April 1. Hunt-Rogers Materials will operate NWAQ’s quarry in Springdale and RGI’s quarries in Lowell and Farmington.

RGI operates about 70 facilities in seven states throughout the southeastern U.S. that produce crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt and highway construction aggregate. In Northwest Arkansas, Kenley said, RGI provides construction-grade aggregate, or crushed stone.

Tim Graham and Johnelle Hunt, the widow of J.B. Hunt, founded NWAQ, also serving the crushed stone market.

RGI employees Tim Gorman, vice president/general manager; Chris Collins, sales manager; and Dwayne Gabbard, plant manager, will be Hunt-Rogers Materials’ top officials, according to the release.

Kenley said the new company’s management offices are in Conway at RGI’s state administration office.
