Return Of The Blue Hog Report
The famed Blue Hog Report blog appears poised for resurrection.
The blog, once guided by liberal blogger Matt Campbell, is promoting the date “5.1.13” on its home page.
Campbell tells Talk Business Arkansas that he will indeed relaunch the web site as he begins a solo law practice in the coming weeks. His last day at the Arkansas Supreme Court is April 30.
“No reason not to start giving the GOP heartburn again,” he said. Campbell was also happy to note that he’s looking for legal work referrals.
Blue Hog Report shut down in May 2011 after the Arkansas GOP filed an FOIA request on Campbell at the Arkansas Supreme Court.
Republicans were searching to see if Campbell had used state resources in his blogging efforts, but no proof was ever discovered.
Campbell had become a perpetual “thorn in the side” of newly elected Republicans, especially Secretary of State Mark Martin. Campbell had used numerous FOIA requests to uncover questionable uses of state vehicles, payroll records that placed office employees in two places at one time, and the hiring of consultants with financial ties back to a top Martin employee.
Here’s a link to a round-up of the controversy Campbell created in 2011.
