Parkway Bank, which has a base in Portland, Ark., but is chartered in Rogers, soon will re-open a location it shuttered several years ago in south Arkansas.

The bank’s application for the branch at 329 Highway 425 North in Monticello, filed March 18 with the Arkansas State Bank Department, was approved April 3.

Parkway Bank CEO Bob Taylor said the office has maintained an ATM at the location since it was closed, which he said occurred four years ago. It was a brick-and-mortar location, but will re-open only as a drive-thru facility.

Besides its headquarters at 3550 Pinnacle Hills Parkway, the bank operates full-service branches in Crossett, Portland and Monticello.

Parkway Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of Parkway Bankshares Inc., relocated its charter from Portland to Rogers in 2004.

It had total assets of $116.67 million as of Dec. 31, according to FDIC data.
