George Brothers Promoted, Will Share Executive Responsibilities
In a move that was effective Friday, George’s Inc. has moved into its fourth generation of family leadership.
Brothers Charles and Carl George, 30, will share executive responsibilities as co-CEOs/presidents, the Springdale-based company said in a news release. Its most current president and CEO, Gary George, will continue as the company’s chairman.
One of the nation’s largest privately held poultry companies, George’s began in the late 1920s as Farmers Produce Co. It was started by C.L. George and his sons, Luther and Gene. Gary George, 62, is the son of Gene George.
“Our family built this company with an uncompromising dedication to quality,” Gary George said in the release. “We have always been committed to treating our customers, employees and independent contract growers with respect, honesty and loyalty. Those same values will continue to guide our company as the fourth generation leads George’s.”
Carl George will lead the live production and processing segments of the company, according to the release, while Charles will lead sales, accounting, human resources, quality assurance and purchasing. The brothers, who earned business degrees at the University of Arkansas, began working at George’s in 1997. They joined the executive team in 2006, and were named senior vice presidents in 2009.
“We have an amazing team of dedicated people and committed contract growers who work hard to offer our customers the best service and products,” Carl George said. “I look forward to continuing the work of growing our company and maintaining our commitment to providing these quality products.”
“It is a privilege to work alongside my brother and the excellent team here at George’s,” Charles George said. “Providing our customers with the highest quality poultry products is a legacy that we will continue for years to come.”
George’s has production facilities in Springdale, Cassville, Mo., and Edinburg and Harrisonburg, Va.
