Donor Day in the West End
On Saturday, May 4th, all are invited to come to Donor Day in the West End. Sponsored by ARORA–Arkansas Regional Organ Recovery Agency–this will be a free event open to all. Held at the West End Park and the adjoining Compass Area, visitors will be treated to interesting displays, lots of information, and the opportunity to learn more about organ and tissue donation, as well as to register as a donor. Mr. Cabbage Head and the Screaming Radishes will provide great music, Daren Bobb will emcee, and ARORA will provide free refreshments. The Boomarang Diner will also be open, as will the $1 rides in the park. The Farmers Market will be in full swing across the street, as well. Over 117,000 Americans are currently waiting for a transplant, so we want to raise awareness of the need, as well as to remember those who lost their lives while waiting, and to rejoice with those who have received the Gift of Life. Several recipients will be attending, as will several Donor Families, who will also be honored for their loved ones' gifts to others. This will be a family-friendly event, and we hope to see you there!
