The department of supply chain management in the University of Arkansas’ Sam M. Walton College of Business will host the 2013 Logistics Doctoral Symposium on April 4-6.

The event, conceived 10 years ago for leading universities in the logistics and supply chain management fields, provides guidance to doctoral students in the field for research, teaching, publishing, service roles and the tenure process, according to a university-issued release.

Matt Waller, chair of the supply chain department, said it’s an honor for the UA to be selected as host.

“It is an excellent opportunity to network with fellow students and faculty,” Waller said in the release, “and a chance to display all that is great about the Walton College and the University of Arkansas.”

The symposium will bring about 80 doctoral students and faculty from more than 25 universities across the country.
