Open Avenues is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) job training facility for people with
disabilities. The individuals served by Open Avenues become more independent, more
employable, and are active and productive members of the communities of Northwest
Arkansas.
Open Avenues Spring Fling is our signature event and our way to establish vital
financial support for Open Avenues, and promote Open Avenues’ mission in Northwest
Arkansas.
Over 36 years ago, a group of parents joined forces to create an organization
that could offer compassionate care and education for adults with disabilities, age 16
years and over. Starting in 1975 with 11 clients, what was then called The Adult
Development Center (ADC), evolved and expanded to now be called Open Avenues.
Open Avenues, located in a new facility on N 24th Street in Rogers, currently serves 120
individuals on a daily basis; disabilities such as mental retardation, cerebral palsy,
epilepsy, autism, visual or hearing impairment, traumatic brain injury, bi-polar disorder,
schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. Open Avenues plays a significant role in the
Northwest Arkansas community as it provides vital services to people with disabilities and
as it contributes to the economy of the area. Our unwavering commitment is to help
people with disabilities be a part of Northwest Arkansas. We hope you can participate!
