Stephens Inc. is moving long-time trucking sector analyst Jack Waldo to its larger investment banking division, and the company said it was expanding its equity research coverage in the transportation and logistics sectors.

The transportation sector will be backed by a six-member team conducting research on roughly 50 companies.

Analyst Brad Delco will assume coverage of the truckload and less-than-truckload sectors. Delco is an eight-year veteran of Stephens and most recently served as a research analyst covering railroads, railroad suppliers and truck equipment suppliers. He has also spent multiple years in the trucking sector at Stephens.

Justin Long has been promoted to research analyst and will cover the railroads and transportation suppliers. Long has been with Stephens for nearly five years and has served the past two years as a research associate in the sector. Research analyst Jack Atkins will continue to cover the airfreight and logistics sectors and will be assuming coverage of several logistics providers to complement his current coverage list.

Jack Waldo joined Stephens in 2000 as an analyst in Stephens Investment Banking Group. In 2006, Waldo transferred to Stephens’ Research department to become the senior analyst covering Truckload and Less-Than-Truckload businesses. He will now transition to the larger Investment Banking group practice.

“We are excited to have Jack rejoin our Investment Banking team,” said Kenny Gunderman and Brad Eichler, co-heads of Investment Banking. “Jack’s knowledge of the sector and banking experience will significantly augment Senior Banker Michael Miller and the balance of our current team.”

“Our Transportation and Logistics franchise continues to be a focal point to which we will allocate resources and experienced analysts to ensure comprehensive research coverage. For multiple decades, Stephens has prided itself on being a dominant voice in this sector and we will continue to provide exceptional service to our clients,” noted Nik Fisken, EVP & Director of Research at Stephens.
