Forty Under 40: Vicki Vasser
Being an attorney is in Vicki Vasser’s blood. While she dabbled a little as an accountant early in her career, Vasser always knew she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father, Glenn Vasser, who has been an attorney in Prescott for more than 40 years.
“I was either going to grow up hating [the profession] or be drawn to it,” she said. “I was always intrigued by it and I just soaked up everything I could and knew early on it was something I wanted to do.”
Vasser grew up in southwest Arkansas and worked as a “gopher” in her father’s law firm while graduating as valedictorian from Prescott High in 1995.
A bachelor’s and MBA in accounting from the University of Arkansas propelled Vasser to an accounting position in Oklahoma, but it didn’t take long for her to decide to change course and enroll in the UA School of Law.
After a couple of years as a law clerk, Vasser joined MCRMT in 2006, and in 2012 was named the firm’s first female partner.
“I’m the lone gal and I’m the youngster,” she said. “I’m proud of that.”
Vasser participates in a variety of community activities, including being a member of the Rogers Rotary Club, and is a board member with the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce and Mercy Foundation of Northwest Arkansas.
She also participates in the chancel choir at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers.
