Forty Under 40: Jamie Kelley Loftin
Jamie Loftin said she’s always had a strong affinity for education.
“My parents were both educators,” she said. “I loved school and I loved learning.”
Her love of education helps her fit in at her current position, where she plays a part in making the Walton College of Business a top learning institution.
Loftin received an MBA from the UA in 2002 while working for Arkansas Best Corp. in corporate accounting.
She came to work for the Walton College in 2007 as the director of accounting before being promoted in May 2011 to her current position.
Loftin is inspired by the strong female leaders she has worked with.
“Looking at women in leadership positions has made me think if I work really hard, one day I can be in those positions,” she said.
Her goal for the next five years is to continue working for the college.
“There are so many challenges, it never gets boring,” she said.
Loftin is involved in the Women’s Giving Circle on campus, a group of women dedicated to helping the University, its students, faculty and staff by pooling resources to make a significant impact. She also volunteers for the March of Dimes organization.
