Forty Under 40: Carl George
In April, Carl George got a big promotion. Along with his twin brother, Charles, he was named co-CEO and president of George’s Inc., one of the largest poultry producers in the nation.
George had no problem making the transition to his new position. After all, he had been senior vice president with the company since 2009 and had a say in live production and processing, the area he now leads as CEO.
“It’s not a real big change,” said George, referencing great working relationships with an upper management team that’s essentially been in tact since 1997.
At only 30, he and his brother have plenty of time to take George’s to where they want it to go. And now that the twins are at the helm, the focus is simple: growth.
“We want to expand the processing end with more breaded and cooked products,” he said. “It’s an honor to be working for the family business and alongside my twin brother.”
George and his wife, Anna, live in Fayetteville. He describes himself as a “bogey golfer” who enjoys the course at Springdale Country Club.
George serves on the board of directors for the National Chicken Council and is a member of the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association. He has a bachelor’s degree from the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas.
