New Magazine Out, New Web Site Launched
We promised you a few more changes were coming.
Talk Business Arkansas' latest magazine is hitting mailboxes across the state this week.
In the most current issue — which is now published six times a year — we feature the four inductees into the state's business hall of fame: Tommy Boyer, Buddy Coleman, Bill Cravens, and Frank Fletcher.
In this magazine, you'll also find a first-hand account of President John F. Kennedy's historic visit to Arkansas 50 years ago just weeks before his assassination in Dallas.
Through our partnership with The City Wire, we journey to “The Supply Side” for an in-depth examination of the Wal-Mart vendor community.
You'll also find features on pharmacist/retailer Stephen LaFrance, America's Car-Mart CEO Hank Henderson, Delta Trust & Bank CEO French Hill, and Clinton Foundation executive director Stephanie Streett.
This issue has a wide range of commentary from Home Bancshares CEO John Allison, Mercy Health Northwest CEO Scott Street, Arkansas Surgeon General Dr. Joe Thompson, Advance Arkansas Institute president Dan Greenberg, and UA economist Kathy Deck.
Watch for all of these stories to roll out this week on our newly revamped web site at TalkBusinessArkansas.com.
Speaking of our web site, we'd like to point out a few changes we've made. Notably, we've streamlined our news content into one feed. Now, you can scroll through our latest stories for the freshest content of news, commentary and analysis. Our growth in blogging and reporting content was a driver for this revision.
If you still want to follow your favorite writers, you can do so by clicking on their pictures in the right-hand column; it will take you to their primary reporting beats. I will still be covering business and politics. Jason Tolbert and Michael Cook remain on opposite sides of the political fence. Steve Brawner will continue his coverage of education news and he's an independent commentator on politics at the state and national level. Stephanie Baker will be leading our Kudos blog, which covers people and companies on the move.
Another addition to our web site is a second video feed. Beginning this week, Talk Business Arkansas will provide a variety of new webcast and podcast reports.
On Mondays, we'll package Sunday's TV show. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays will feature our daily report covering business, politics and policy from the state capitol. On Fridays, we'll provide you a week in review. However, today only (Monday), we'll launch our first broadcast as I sit down with Arkansas Democrat-Gazette columnist John Brummett for analysis.
There are still a few more switches for us to flip on with the web site and we'll keep you informed as we move forward. We'd also appreciate your feedback. Feel free to drop me an email at [email protected] and share your thoughts and suggestions.
