Restaurant Go-Round in Bentonville

After a brief run last summer, Metro Italiano is trying again.

The restaurant reopened at 3607 S.E. Metro Parkway, behind Village Inn, on Nov. 27, and is branding itself as an Italian restaurant and live music venue.

The 6,500-SF building most recently was home to Boomers Time Out, and before that, Brioso Brazil.

Earlier this year, Whispers learned David Inglis had bought the building and leased it to Italian restaurant Bella Napoli, which was moving from its previous location at Arkansas Highway 102 and Southeast J Street. General manager Carlos Calderon was to stay on with the renamed eatery.

The restaurant opened in the new spot in July, but closed after just a few weeks — and some blistering reviews on yelp.com and urbanspoon.com. Metro Italiano posted on its Facebook page Nov. 15 that “things didn’t work out” with Calderon, so the restaurant has a new chef and manager.

Incidentally, we hear Calderon has reopened Bella Napoli, at 1702 S. Walton Blvd. near the U.S. Post Office.
