Deer Hunting 101 – Would you like to start a new fall tradition in your family? Are you interested in getting started deer hunting, but don't know where to start? Then you need to attend this family-oriented workshop! Participants will learn how to field dress a deer first hand with a real carcass, while getting tips from a meat processor and a taxidermist. Deer hunting regulations will be discussed, as well as what to wear and some crucial safety issues to consider. Biologists will look point out deer biology facts, and how to use them to help you in the hunt. The actions taken by the AGFC in the past toward good deer management have helped to provide a healthy population to hunt. Where can you find those healthy herds? Learn that too, as well as other information about hunting opportunities in our state. You might also pick up a few recipes and tips on cooking while sampling a few venison dishes.
