Crystal Bridges Coordinator Selected For Museum Organization
Heather Marie Wells, Education Technology Coordinator for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, has been elected to serve as a director of the Southeast Museums Conference (SEMC).
She will serve a three-year term, ending in October 2015.
The SEMC, a nonprofit membership organization, is an association of museums, museum staff, independent professionals and corporate partners focusing on museums and museum concerns within the Southeastern United States, including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The organization provides education and professional development opportunities, encourages the interchange of ideas and information, and builds collegiality among member organizations.
Wells, who has been at Crystal Bridges since 2010, has been active in the SEMC since 2007, and was awarded the organization’s 2008 Emerging Professional of the Year award.
She has also garnered two MUSE awards from the American Alliance of Museums’ Media and Technology Committee and several awards from the Arkansas Museums Association.
She has presented at numerous state, regional, and national conferences, and published papers in several museum publications, including the American Public Gardens Association Magazine, the American Alliance of Museum Registrars Committee Newsletter and the Arkansas Museums Association newsletter.
Wells is currently serving her second term on the board of the Arkansas Museums Association.
