Carmichael No Longer at IberiaBank; Mizelle Steps In
Longtime banking executive Jerry Carmichael has left IberiaBank in Rogers, part of a shakeup in the Louisiana-based bank’s Northwest Arkansas market team.
Mark Mizelle has left Bank of Arkansas to become senior vice president and commercial relationship manager at IberiaBank, a subsidiary of IberiaBank Corp., a publicly traded financial holding company headquartered in Lafayette, La. Mizelle has more than 20 years experience and most recently was senior vice president of corporate banking at BOA.
A University of Arkansas graduate, Mizelle is noted by IberiaBank officials as being a strong member of the Benton County community, having served on committees for the Bentonville School District, Bentonville Public Library, and a board position with the Rogers/Lowell Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mizelle, who also held leadership roles with Regions Bank, Liberty Bank of Arkansas and Community First Bank, will office out of the IberiaBank branch near the corner of West Walnut and South 28th streets in Rogers.
Carmichael, the Northwest Arkansas market president for IberiaBank since June 2011, could not be reached for comment. A spokesperson for IberiaBank called his departure “an amicable split”.
Carmichael began his career as an Arkansas banker in 1984 at McIlrory Bank & Trust in Fayetteville. After stops at Texarkana and Little Rock, his current timeline in the Northwest Arkansas banking market began in 1993, with time spent at Arvest Bank, Parkway Bank and Intrust Bank, all in Rogers.
Other new additions to IberiaBank’s Northwest Arkansas team are Ryan Dagley, Jody Russell and Carla Crosswhite.
Dagley, a Bentonville High School graduate, is now vice president and branch manager in Bentonville on South Walton Boulevard. He joins IberiaBank from Signature Bank in Bentonville, where he was vice president of commercial lending.
Russell, previously a loan operations manager for Arvest Bank, is the new assistant branch manager in Bentonville.
Crosswite is the new assistant branch manager at the Elm Springs Road location in Springdale.
IberiaBank operates seven locations in Northwest Arkansas, and 34 locations across the state. IberiaBank Corp. has 274 combined offices, including 181 bank branch offices in Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Texas, and Florida.
As of June 30, IberiaBank had four bank branches in Benton County with deposits totaling $71.53 million, representing a gain of 2 percent from 2011 deposits totaling $70.13. As of November, however, the bank has three Benton County locations following the closing of the Bella Vista branch at 14 Riordan Road.
The bank also has four branches in Washington County, with deposits totaling $40.65 million, representing a loss of 15.68 percent from 2011 deposits totaling $48.24.
