Arvest Bank Maintains Top Spot on Lenders List

A familiar name remained atop the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal’s annual list of the area’s largest mortgage lenders.
That would be Arvest Bank, which totaled more than 5,500 mortgages in 2011, according to data consisting of lenders, dollar values and closing dates supplied by Waco Title Co. of Springdale. Non-institutional lenders and as many exclusively secondary market lenders as possible were intentionally culled from the list.

Overall, the top 20 mortgage lenders totaled almost 13,000 mortgages in 2011, a dip of about 8 percent compared to 2010. The value of the mortgages also dropped slightly, from $2.71 billion in 2010 to $2.65 million in 2011.
Iberiabank FSB, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Bank of Arkansas NA and First Security Bank rounded out the top five on the 2011 list. Bank of Arkansas NA’s totals included Bank of Oklahoma data.
