Arkansas Transport Driver Wins Safety Award
Bennie Harger, a transport driver with Seahawk Transport, a wholly owned subsidiary of Coulson Oil Company, has been selected as 2012 Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year from the National Safety Council.
The award recognizes individuals who have driven a significant amount of miles without being involved in a preventable accident. It is named for Joseph M. Kaplan, who was president of the Southern California Chapter of the National Safety Council for more than 60 years and was a pioneer in promoting safety belt use.
Harger was one of seven regional winners. From that select group, he was chosen as the Joseph M. Kaplan Safe Driver of the Year.
“We are thrilled Bennie is being recognized for his exemplary record of safety. He is a great driver and a better person,” said Coulson Oil CEO David Zakrzewski. “Safe driving is critical for all of our team and Bennie sets a high standard.”
Harger is a native of Alma, Ark. He has over 41 years and 4.5 million miles of accident-free driving. He is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a recipient of multiple medals for his service in Vietnam.
