Fayetteville-based Specialized Real Estate Group recently received the 2012 LEED for Homes Award for Outstanding Multifamily Project from the U.S. Green Building Council.

The company was recognized for Eco Modern Flats, a 96-unit renovated apartment complex at 130 S. Hill Ave. in Fayetteville. The complex is Arkansas’ first multifamily project to be certified as LEED Platinum.

LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and platinum is the highest level in the USGBC’s rating system.

The award was presented Nov. 15 at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo in San Francisco. On hand to accept the award were SREG’s CEO Jeremy Hudson, president Seth Mims and vice president Corey Runnells, along with architect Chris Baribeau of modus studio.

SREG focuses on developing and managing multifamily communities in Northwest Arkansas.
