Hudlow Hired by City of Lowell
The former treasurer and chief financial officer for the city of Rogers has a new job.
Jerry Hudlow, who is suing the city of Rogers and mayor Greg Hines for wrongful termination, has been hired by Lowell mayor Eldon Long to serve as the city’s finance director.
Hudlow began his employment today. The city of Lowell, according to its website, employs approximately 50 full-time employees.
“It has been a long six months,” Hudlow said. “I’ve been working since I was 13 years old and it’s been driving me crazy not to work.”
Hudlow was fired in May by Hines for a variety of reasons, outlined by the mayor in a personnel action report. Among the complaints were insubordination, intimidation, disrespect, lack of decorum, failure in ethics and violation of state.
Hudlow’s lawsuit, filed Aug. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, alleges wrongful termination. A trial date has not yet been announced.
Hudlow worked in Rogers for nearly a decade. Former mayor and current U.S. Congressman Steve Womack appointed him city treasurer on Aug. 27, 2002.
