Gardenland Express opens at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville on December 1 and continues through December 16 on weekends. Saturday hours are 9:00 to 2:00 and Sunday hours are 1:00 to 4:00. The Event Hall of the Garden will be filled with garden-scale model trains in a winter wonderland setting. Children may visit Santa and ride on the outdoor Rowan Express Barrel Train. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free. Light refreshments are included. On December 1 only, visitors may also enjoy the Holiday Farmer's Market, outdoors from 9:00 to 2:00, featuring local seasonal gifts, art, crafts, food and produce, including items from the Botanical Garden gift shop and garden. Two classes are also being offered on Dec. 1. From 10:00 to 12:00 adults may make a holiday wreath with Thea Wiles of Rose of Sharon Florist. Cost is $50/members; $55/nonmembers and includes all materials. Class is limited to 12 based on advance registration and payment at www.bgozarks.org. At 1:30, families may participate in a wildlife ornament workshop. Cost is $30 for a family of 4 and $10 for individuals and includes all materials. Class is limited to 15 based on advance registration and payment at www.bgozarks.org.
