Sparks, Summit Announce Leadership Promotions

Melody Trimble, the CEO of Sparks Health System in Fort Smith the last three years, will also serve as CEO at nearby Summit Medical Center in Van Buren, it was announced recently.
Health Management Associates Inc. of Naples, Fla., whose portfolio includes 70 hospitals in 15 states, operates both facilities.
Trimble is replacing Sue Conley, who resigned her job at Summit to take a similar position at two community hospitals in Nashville, Tenn.
Anthony Brooks, the assistant CFO at Sparks, will now assume financial oversight at Summit.
Starting Oct. 15, Shelly Weilenman will manage the daily operations at Summit as the facility’s new administrator and chief nursing executive.
Summit Medical Center is a 103-bed hospital that is partially physician-owned.
