Little Rock Firm To Add Jobs With Expansion
Antique Brick & Block, a residential and commercial masonry supply company based in Little Rock, is expanding its manufacturing facility located at 9th and Bond Street.
The addition will increase the company’s offerings to local designers and builders and create nine new full-time positions.
The company, which was founded in 1979, distributes brick, concrete block, man-made and natural stone, architectural pre-cast and other masonry products for use by commercial architects, engineers, general contractors, residential homebuilders, and landscape designers. The new facility will allow the company to broaden its offerings.
“This new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility has two great benefits in our eyes,” said Jason Garner, Vice-President for Sales. “First, we’ll be able to increase the level of service and quality by vertically integrating our custom product offerings to architects and general contractors, and second, we have the added privilege of creating new jobs in an area and time period when economic activity has been low.”
The new facility, which is being constructed within Antique Brick and Block’s current East Warehouse, will add nine immediate full-time positions with the company and 24 temporary and construction jobs during plant commissioning.
“We are committed to the resurgence and redevelopment of Downtown Little Rock’s original industrial area, and this expansion will hopefully contribute to that recovery,” said Garner.
The new facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2012 with operations to begin within it immediately thereafter.
